Protest at Council Member Baez's Office
New Settlement/CASA had a demonstration in front of the district office of Councilmember Baez, calling her to task for sponsoring the harassment bill against tenants. New Settlement/CASA had tried to get a meeting with Baez for weeks, so the demonstration was a last resort. But, it seems to have been effective; halfway through the demonstration Baez and Rivera issued a press release saying that they weren't really fully supporting their own bill, they just introduced it to spark a dialogue.  There was great coverage in the Daily News, El Diario, WNYC, Bronx 12, and a number of other local Bronx outlets.
